The 71 is a halal steak restaurant in South Woodford, East London. Steak isn’t a side note here — it’s the main event. Our premium cuts are 100% halal sourced and charcoal grilled to perfection. From marbled Wagyu to the show-stopping 1kg Tomahawk, every steak is prepared with skill and care.
Choose from our selection of premium halal steaks: Wagyu for unmatched marbling and tenderness, Black Angus Ribeye for rich, beefy flavour, Argentine Sirloin for a lean, clean cut, or the 1kg Tomahawk — a bone-in showpiece perfect for sharing.
While our steaks take centre stage, The 71’s fusion menu has something for everyone. Chimichurri prawns, Korean chicken wings, lobster tail, Thai Wagyu stir-fry — plus signature cocktails and mocktails to complement every dish.
Located at 190-192 George Lane, The 71 is just a two-minute walk from South Woodford tube (Central Line). Serving steak lovers across South Woodford, Woodford, Ilford, Wanstead, Redbridge and the wider East London area. Open Thursday to Sunday from 5 PM. Live DJ every Friday and Saturday evening.
Every dish begins with fresh, hand-selected ingredients. Nothing rushed, nothing compromised — just flavour done properly.
Our kitchen is led by passionate chefs who specialise in flavour layering, fusion cooking and beautifully plated dishes.
Every steak is cooked over charcoal for that perfect sear, smoky depth and restaurant-quality finish you won't find elsewhere.
