the71 Grill and Lounge
We want every visit to the71 to feel relaxed, welcoming and well looked after. This policy helps us prepare for your arrival, manage our restaurant and lounge fairly, and provide the best possible experience for every table.
By making a reservation, you agree to the booking terms below and to any additional terms communicated before your booking is confirmed.
Advance booking is recommended, particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings and for larger groups.
Your reservation is confirmed once you have received confirmation from the71 and, where required, paid the applicable deposit.
Please include every guest attending when making your reservation, including children. Changes to the date, time or number of guests are subject to availability and should be requested as early as possible.
Specific tables, booths or areas may be requested but cannot be guaranteed. We will always do our best to accommodate your preference.
Tables are allocated for two hours from the confirmed reservation time. This applies at all times to both restaurant and lounge bookings.
Where there is no later reservation, we may be able to extend your stay. During busy periods, however, we will need the table back at the end of its allocated time.
We will hold your table for 15 minutes after the confirmed booking time. If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible. Late arrival may reduce the time available at your table, and we may release the reservation if we have not heard from you.
Your table time begins from the original reservation time rather than the time the final member of your party arrives. We therefore recommend that your group arrives together.
Bookings of 10 or more guests are treated as group bookings.
A deposit of £10 per person is required to confirm a group booking. The deposit will be deducted from the final bill, provided the booking proceeds with the confirmed number of guests.
Final guest numbers must be confirmed at least 48 hours before the reservation. If the number of guests is reduced after this point, the deposit relating to absent guests may be retained.
Depending on the size and nature of the booking, we may also require a food pre-order, set menu or agreed minimum spend. Any such requirement will be explained before the booking is confirmed.
Private-hire reservations require a deposit to secure the booking. The deposit amount, payment schedule, minimum spend and any other booking-specific terms will be confirmed in writing before payment is taken.
A private-hire booking is not confirmed until the required deposit has been received.
We understand that plans can change. Please cancel or amend your reservation as early as possible so that we have an opportunity to offer the table to other guests.
Group-booking deposits are refundable when the booking is cancelled at least 48 hours before the reservation.
If a group booking is cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, the party does not attend, or guest numbers are reduced after the deadline, we may retain the relevant deposit.
Cancellation terms for private hire will be confirmed as part of the private-hire agreement.
A 12.5% service charge will be added to all bills.
For parties of fewer than 10 guests, the service charge is discretionary.
For parties of 10 or more guests, the 12.5% service charge is mandatory and will be added to the final bill.
The shisha lounge is strictly for guests aged 18 or over. Guests under 18 are not permitted to enter or be seated in the lounge, even when accompanied by an adult.
Valid photographic identification may be requested. We operate a Challenge 25 policy and may refuse entry or the service of shisha where suitable identification cannot be provided.
A strict minimum order of one shisha pipe for every two lounge guests applies, whether or not every guest intends to smoke. For odd-numbered parties, the requirement is rounded up to the next whole shisha. For example, three guests require a minimum order of two shishas.
Shisha pipes, coals and related equipment must only be moved or adjusted by a member of our team. Guests must not touch or move hot coals. Please report any damage, spillage or safety concern to a member of staff immediately.
Shisha may only be consumed in the designated outdoor lounge area. A restaurant reservation does not automatically include a lounge table. Please select the correct booking type or contact us in advance if you would like to visit both areas.
Children are welcome in the restaurant when accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult.
Guests under 18 are not permitted in the shisha lounge. Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising children throughout their visit to the restaurant.
Please include children and babies in your total party size when booking, even if they will not require a full dining chair. Highchairs are subject to availability and should be requested in advance.
Please tell us about any food allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements when making your reservation and again before placing your order.
Allergen information is available from our team. Although we take allergies seriously and follow procedures designed to reduce cross-contamination, our dishes are prepared in a kitchen where allergens are handled. We therefore cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free from traces of a particular allergen.
If you or a member of your party has a severe allergy, please contact us before booking so that our team can discuss whether the requirement can be accommodated safely. Menu descriptions should not be relied upon as complete allergen information.
Outside celebration cakes are welcome at no additional charge, but please let us know in advance.
Guests remain responsible for the ingredients and allergen content of food brought onto the premises. We may ask for ingredient or allergen information before serving an outside cake.
Decorations must be agreed with us in advance and must not be attached to walls, lighting, signage or other fixtures. Confetti, table sprinkles, smoke devices and indoor fireworks are not permitted.
Please speak to our team before arranging any entertainers, photographers, large displays or other external suppliers.
Our dress code is smart casual. We ask all guests to dress in a way that is appropriate for a premium restaurant and lounge environment.
Management reserves the right to refuse entry where clothing is considered unsuitable for the venue.
We want the71 to remain comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.
Abusive, threatening, discriminatory or seriously disruptive behaviour towards guests or staff will not be tolerated. Management may refuse entry, refuse service or ask a guest to leave where reasonably necessary to protect the safety, comfort or enjoyment of others.
Guests may not bring or consume their own food or drink unless agreed with us in advance. This does not prevent an approved celebration cake being brought in under the policy above.
For group bookings, the final bill may be divided across a maximum of six payment methods.
Please tell the team how you would like to divide the bill before payments begin. During busy periods, we may be unable to produce separate itemised bills for every member of a large party.
Promotional offers, dining credits and discounts are subject to their own terms and cannot be combined unless expressly stated.
If you or a member of your party has an accessibility requirement, please let us know when booking. We will make every reasonable effort to provide appropriate access and seating.
Any other special requests should be made in advance and remain subject to availability.
